The Providence of God in All Things - 5

Thy fool! will thy discover of the cause
Suspend the effect or heal it?  Has not God
Still wrought by means since first he made the world!
And did he not of old employ his means
To drown it?  What is his creation less
Than a capacious reservior of means,
Form'd for his use, and ready at his will?
Go, dress thine eyes with eye-salve; ast of Him,
Or ask of whomsoever he has taught;
And learn, though late, the genuine cause of all.
- William Cowper Compendium p.737

Part 5 of 5

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him,
and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life,
and the life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
- John 1:1-5
