Run because...

Exercise makes me feel stronger in body and spirit.
I want to recover the freedom I feel when "really" running.
It is a fun way to spend time with my husband and daughter.
It gives me more energy and makes me a happier person in general.
We can help great causes by showing up and having fun. (I hadn't really thought of this when we scheduled our first 5K - our second will support something cool - maybe missions?)

On Continuing the Journey
I am always tempted to quit when things get tough and unpleasant. It is part of my general personally and make up. My family and close friends know this. They are a wonderful support and don't let me quit things I can't or shouldn't quit, they shore me up.
Let us not love in words or tongue alone but with actions and with truth. - 1 John 3:18
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. -2 Thes. 2:16
